10-8-25 Understanding Title Insurance

This course will provide the agent with information in the following areas to protect the client:
How title insurance developed, what it is, what it covers, its role in the settlement process, the title commitment (requirements and exceptions), and types of title
insurance policies. The importance of title insurance will also be discussed, as will the title examination
process and the role of the title examiner and other
actors, such as a surveyor and underwriter. The
discussion will turn to varieties of claims and how they could be prevented.
